Carp in Illinois River

Heidi Kueller, a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service employee, drives a boat along the Illinois River as Asian carp leap into the air in the background. The carp often leap when disturbed by motorboats. Scientists now fear the carp have breached a barrier on a Chicago-area river and may have infiltrated the Great Lakes. Photo courtesy U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
