Workers at the Duluth port prepare a 110-ton magnet for the next stage of its journey. The 10.5 Tesla magnet was shipped from England to Duluth, where it was lowered onto a 16-foot-wide, 150-foot-long trailer for transportation to the University of Minnesota Twin Cities campus. The world’s largest imaging magnet, it will be used to aid in brain research and human body imaging.
