Fifth-grade students from Great Lakes Elementary School and Lake Superior School attended at Water Fest on March 15 at the Mariner Mall in Superior. The students went through nine learning stations about water topics ranging from water pollution, water quality, and the shape of Lake Superior under water. The fair featured guests from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, National Estuarine Research Reserve, Lake Superior Research Institute and the Environmental Services Division of Public Works of the city of Superior. The students used 3-D glasses to learn about bathymetry, looked at what the bottom of the Great Lakes looks like and played water bingo.
