This evening at the Depot, a photo exhibit — “Portraits of Home II: Veterans in Search of Housing in Greater Minnesota” — opens, featuring more than 50 images made by six distinguished photojournalists. The pictures capture the deeply personal impacts of nonmetro Minnesota’s affordable-housing crisis.
Local businesses, social services, citizens, and faith-based groups have partnered to bring resources to one location where those in need can find services like food and clothing, housing, employment, medical and mental health care, and education assistance.
The partnership between Duluth and St. Louis County in the 10-Year Plan to End Homelessness, created three years ago, is working to reduce street and long-term homelessness. The results are visible and quantifiable in the 14 percent reduction in chronic homelessness.
