Music review: Intimacy, passion mark Matinee Musicale’s season opener by Minnesota Orchestra performers
Matinee Musicale began its 111th recital season Tuesday night at Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ with a full moon, a string quartet and a clarinet. Like the final full moon of summer, this was no ordinary gathering. But the clarinetist was none other than Osmo Vänskä, 10th and current music director/conductor of the same Minnesota Orchestra. All in all, it was a night for seat belts and full throttle.
