Civil disobedience training held to stop Gogebic Taconite mine
A group that says new iron ore legislation leaves them with no choice but to use civil disobedience against the planned Gogebic Taconite mine on Northwestern Wisconsin’s Penokee Range held a training session last weekend. Even to the untrained eye, as last week’s Germann Road fire still smoldered, a pattern was obvious: Of those cabins and homes that burned, many were tucked tight into the forest. Of those nearby that still stood when the smoke cleared, many had large, open yards.
