Future development on Duluth’s Park Point will be the subject of a public meeting at the Lafayette Community Recreation Center, 3026 Minnesota Ave., on March 27. From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., participants and city planners will discuss some recommendations being proposed as part of a small-area plan now being developed.
A Duluth man testified Tuesday that he repeatedly kicked a friend in the head until he fell over unconscious because he had called him a racial epithet. The man then pleaded guilty to assault and agreed to serve a longer-than-guideline prison sentence.
The high-stakes bidding went back and forth, higher and higher, the tension mounting. And then, in the end: joy for a Park Point couple who prevailed in acquiring their neighborhood’s old, closed-since-June fire hall.
