Tyrone Edward Demenge, 41, faces felony charges of first-degree assault, reckless handling/use/discharge of a weapon and two counts of terroristic threats in addition to misdemeanor counts of obstructing the legal process and domestic assault.
The man, a 41-year-old from rural Blackhoof Township, later was apprehended and transported first to a hospital for evaluation and then to the Carlton County Jail, where he is being held pending charges.
Antonio Thunberg testified that he was running down a Central Hillside alley with Philbert “Darkman’’ Barnes and another man on July 12 when he saw Barnes put his hand behind his back and fire a series of shots indiscriminately into a crowd, resulting in the death of 22-year-old Curtis Cooney.
