Here are some to try: Tischer Creek in Duluth, from Vermilion Road down to East Fourth Street; the Baptism River near Silver Bay (enter the park, get your $5 daily permit, and drive up to the trailhead, hike in to the river about three-quarters of a mile); or drive all the way to Pigeon River State Park near Grand Portage and hike a short distance to the falls.
