Review: ‘Godspell’ full of pleasant surprises
Back in the day, “Godspell” often was dismissed as a Sunday School confection compared to the operatic “Jesus Christ Superstar.” But the proper comparison lies between “Godspell” and the “Good News for Modern Man” translation of the New Testament released in 1966. Both works have at their heart the idea of dynamic equivalence, translating Scripture “thought for thought” rather than “word for word.”

Reader’s view: Secularists won’t accept the truth of Jesus
The March 12 commentary chastising a Duluth letter writer and fellow priest rendered me to think that one of the two writers is an apostle of Christ while the other is a secularist. The priest being criticized seems more than a mere Catholic priest; he seems an apostle of Christ. The apostle is relentless in his defense of the statutes of Christ. His epistles are the sounding trumpet that hopefully wakes up those who do not recognize the schemes of Satan and the danger looming over this nation.
