Prescription Drug Abuse

  • A grouping of Vicodin pills in the custody of the Duluth Police Department. Vicodin is one of the top prescription drugs that is being abused. It is a mix of acetaminophen and hydrocodone bitartrate. [CLINT AUSTIN/NEWS TRIBUNE]

The user crushes the tablets an mixes them in solution and draws it into the syringe for direct injection into a major vein, a process called "mainlining."
