Mary Lou Marcella, 83, of Aurora, died Monday, March 4, 2013 at her residence.

Mary Lou Marcella, 83, of Aurora, died Monday, March 4, 2013 at her residence.

She was born March 31, 1929 in Elmora, Minn., to Everett and Nellie (Downing) Danielson.

She married Joseph Marcella on April 5, 1947 in Bovey, Minn. In 1960 they moved to Aurora, Minn.

Mary Lou was a very strong willed woman who fought cancer for many years and had a strong faith in God. She was the most amazing homemaker, mother, grandma, great grandmother, sister and friend. Everybody loved coming to Mary Lou's for the amazing food, a good card game, a good laugh and her love. The family knew they could always count on her.

She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, the Aurora American Legion Auxiliary, the Italian American Club and a meals-on-wheels volunteer.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Irene Haatvedt, Almeda Maki, Lloyd Danielson and Arvid Danielson in infancy.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph, of Aurora; children, Joseph (Kathy) Marcella of Brooklyn Park, Jeff (Amy Hartmann) Marcella of Cedar Falls, Iowa and Mary Ann Marcella of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Joe (Tanya) Marcella, Robert (Sarah) Marcella, Nicole (Matt) Elsen, Tina Marcella (Brent Wells), Stephanie Marcella and Nick Marcella; nine great grandchildren; siblings, her twin sister, Marge Whalen of Minneapolis, Lois Ripsin of Plymouth, Avis Merhar of St. Paul, Phyllis (David) Larson of Rosemount and Vernon Danielson of Coleraine; many nieces and nephews.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013 in Redeemer Lutheran Church in Aurora with Rev. Donald Stauty officiating. A gathering of family and friends will take place Friday, March 15, from 5 to 7 p.m. in Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Aurora and will continue for one hour prior to the service in the church. Inurnment will be at a later date at the Lakeview Cemetery in Coleraine, Minn.
