Marilyn Walters, 85, of St. Petersburg, Fla., passed away March 3, 2013.

Marilyn Walters, 85, of St. Petersburg, Fla., passed away March 3, 2013.

She was born in Hibbing, Minn., in 1927.

Mrs. Walters and her family lived in Duluth, for 30 years before retiring to Gulfport, Fla., in 1992. During her business career she worked for three Duluth companies: Halvorson, Inc., Bombardier, Inc., and Maurice's. She attended Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri majoring in Fashion Merchandizing.

She was a member of Pasadena Community Church in St. Petersburg, Fla.

Mrs. Walters is survived by her husband James, with whom she celebrated 65 years of marriage on Sept. 20, 2012; daughter Lynda Friedman and her husband Paul; son David Walters; sister Carole Levens and her partner Duncan MacEachern; grandchildren Ryan, Sean and Eliza Walters; great-grandchild Jacoby Walters; nephew Michael Levens and his wife Denise and their children Colette and Elyse. Her family and friends will miss her.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, in the Pasadena Community Church chapel located at 227 70th Street South, St. Petersburg, FL 33707. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Gulfport Senior Center Foundation (gulfportseniorfoundation.org) are preferred. Online guestbook at davidcgross.com. David C. We are very sorry to hear about Sis. It was a shock to read it in the paper. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I have many great memories of Sis. I remember MANY Sunday Roast Beef dinners at their house on Wallace St. God Bless you Sis!! Jodi & Ruby
