IRENE AGNES (KURSHOFF) DAUGHERTY

Irene Agnes (Kurshoff) Daugherty, 86, of Duluth passed away peacefully Sunday, March 3, 2013, in St. . Luke’s Hospice.

Irene Agnes (Kurshoff) Daugherty, 86, of Duluth passed away peacefully Sunday, March 3, 2013, in St. Luke’s Hospice.

Irene was born Sept. 30, 1926, in Duluth, to Samuel and Agnes (Konczak) Kurshoff.

Irene attended Duluth Denfeld High School where she met and married the love of her life, Bob, in 1942. While Bob served during World War II, Irene worked at the Coolerator making butterfly bombs. Irene and Bob were married for 68 years including 19 years that Irene cared for Bob following a stroke. Irene was a loving wife, mom, and grandma. She took pride in being a homemaker and enjoyed cooking and hosting family get togethers.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bob; brothers, Walter Shubert and John Kurshoff; and sister, Theresa Ojard.

Irene is survived by her daughters Barbara Jean Schleppenbach and Betty Jane (Rick) Olson; grandchildren, Karen Hanson, Bob (Tasha) Hanson, Doug Olson, and David (Kara) Olson; great-grandchildren, Sean, Erica, Scott, Don, Heather, Zach, Jazzmin, Devin, Destinee, and Lucabella; and her loving pet, Charlotte.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Hemingway and St. Luke’s Hospice for their loving and caring help.

VISITATION: 10 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2013 until the 11 a.m. funeral service in Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 East Second Street, Duluth. Burial at Forest Hill Cemetery, Duluth. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home (218) 727-3555.
