Jane W. Bianchet, 83, of Duluth, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013 at Essentia St. Mary’s Hospice with her loving family by her side.
Jane W. Bianchet, 83, of Duluth, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013 at Essentia St. Mary’s Hospice with her loving family by her side.
Jane Ann Wivell was born Jan. 6, 1930, in Marble, Minn., the daughter of James A. and Sylvia (Chapple) Wivell.
She grew up and graduated from Greenway High School in Coleraine, Minn., in 1948. Jane then graduated from St. Luke’s School of Nursing in 1951. She was the head nurse in the pediatric department for several years. She married Patrick Bianchet on Sept. 19, 1952 in Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Coleraine. They made their home in Duluth.
Jane enjoyed knitting, sewing, baking, and was an excellent caregiver. She volunteered many hours at St. Luke’s Hospital and Lakeshore.
She was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church and St. Luke’s Alumni Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Patrick; sister Charlotte Lehrol; and brothers, James and Thomas.
Jane is survived by her children, Jill Bianchet of Duluth, Michael (Cathy) Bianchet of Duluth, and Jody (Gary) Vonasek of Esko; and grandchildren, Sarah, Joseph, and Baby Girl Vonasek (due in May).
A special thank you to the staff of Lakeshore Memory Care Unit, Drs. Ryden and Monson, and the nurses of Essentia-St. Mary’s Medical Center.
VISITATION: 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 8, 2013 until the 11 a.m. funeral service in Elsing Chapel at Lakeshore. Burial at Calvary Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the Lakeshore Memory Care Unit in memory of Jane. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home (218) 727-3555.
