Marie B. Chruscielski, age 82, of Duluth, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 at Essentia-St. Mary’s Medical Center.

Marie B. Chruscielski, age 82, of Duluth, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013 at Essentia-St. Mary’s Medical Center.

Marie Balcerowski was born Aug. 14, 1930 in Algrange, France, the daughter of Pierre and Marianne (Stempin) Balcerowski.

She grew up in France and later became a governess and traveled the world. She married Kaziemierz Chruscielski in May of 1955. They moved to America in 1956 and settled in Duluth. He died in 1962. She later was employed at Kemp’s Fishery in Duluth.

Marie did a lot of volunteer work with the Arrowhead Epilepsy League in Duluth and received the Dr. Jessico Award.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, granddaughter Anna, and sister Veronique.

Marie is survived by her sons, Henry (Betty) Chruscielski, Edward (Kinga) Chruscielski and Richard Chruscielski, all of Duluth, grandchildren, Matthew, Linnea, and Cassandra, and sister Helen (Jean) Quenot of Hagetmau, France.

VISITATION: 4 to 6 pm, Monday, Jan. 21, 2013 at Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 East Second Street, Duluth. Burial at Polish Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home (218) 727-3555.

Betty, Our heartfelt sympathies to you and your family in the death of Henry's mother and grandmother of your children. I know that she was a big part of your lives and will be missed. Our prayers are with you and may you feel God's strength in these hard days. We are in Colorado and won't be able to attend the funeral. Bob and Delores Levander
