VIRGINIA MAY BEEDE

Virginia May Beede, 83, passed away at St. Luke's Hospital, Duluth on Jan. 9, 2013 after a brief illness.

Virginia May Beede, 83, passed away at St. Luke's Hospital, Duluth on Jan. 9, 2013 after a brief illness.

Virginia was born Oct. 29, 1929 in Minneapolis to Vivian and Fredenand Sommerfield. Virginia was employed by Woolsworths, Sunshine Biscuit Company and Form Cafe. She met, married and followed her husband Delbert to Duluth in 1950. She left the comfort of the big city behind to become a wife and mother of six children in the beautiful Duluth countryside.

Virginia enjoyed her family, puzzles, reading and had an extensive teddy bear collection - much to the chagrin' of Delbert who built the display shelves for the ever growing collection. His pleas for "no more bears" seemed to fall on deaf ears, but in reality he didn't mind at all. After Delbert passed away in Jan. 2012, Virginia and her constant companion Pomeranian dog Teddy moved to West Wood Senior Living where they made many new friends.

Virginia will be dearly missed by her family and friends and will forever be in our hearts.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Betty, Mary, and Beverly; brothers, Harold, Fred, and Donald; husband Delbert; and son Warren.

Virginia is survived by daughter, Dianna (Frank) Crandall; sons, Bryan (Kathy, Jeff (Kim Kristensen), Daren (Jan) and Daryl (Sarah); 7 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and brother James of Joplin, Mo.

In Keeping with her wishes there will be no memorial service. The family would like to acknowledge the compassionate care given to Virginia by the caring community of St. Luke's.
