Elizabeth "Liz" Holmberg, 68, Littleton, Colo. died Dec 16, 2012.

Elizabeth "Liz" Holmberg, 68, Littleton, Colo., died Dec 16, 2012.

Liz was born March 5, 1944 in Duluth, the daughter of Carl and Agnes Holmberg.

Following her 1962 graduation from Denfeld high school, Liz continued her education at University of Minnesota Duluth obtaining a Bachelor's of Arts in social work in 1966 and in 1972 a Master's Degree in education from University of Northern Colorado.

She was a long time resident of Littleton, Colorado and was a teacher for the Denver Schools.

With strong optimism Liz battled a weak heart for 19 years. During this time she was a worldwide traveler, passionate bridge player and devoted follower of the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies, and Minnesota Vikings She was affiliated with Delta Kappa Gamma and Mended Hearts.

She was preceded in death by her mother, father, brother Harlan and niece Julie Norman.

Survived by brothers Wayne Holmberg Duluth, Don (Shirley) Holmberg Minneapolis; nephews Carl Holmberg, Apache Junction, Ariz., Matt Holmberg LeCenter, Minn., Willie Holmberg Duluth; nieces Lori Lucia Portland, Ore., Dawn Norman Duluth, Katie Holmberg, Brooklyn, N.Y. and many devoted friends. She will be missed by all.

REMEMBRANCE SERVICE: 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013 at the Fairmount Mortuary in Denver, Colo. Liz will be laid to rest in Norway, Mich.
