Harold Francis "Pete" Thompson, 90, died peacefully in his sleep with family by his side on Jan. 2, 2013.
He was born Nov. 13, 1922, to Martin and Jessie [Hazelton] Thompson in Racine, Minn.
Pete served in the U.S. Navy as an aviation machinist mate, 2nd class in both Oklahoma and Hawaii. After his discharge he worked for the Racine Creamery in Racine, Minn. In 1955 he moved his family to Silver Bay, Minn., and worked for Reserve Mining Company. Pete also served as Justice of the Peace and then Councilman for 28 years for the City of Silver Bay.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Cheryl Thompson; mother Jessie Hazelton Thompson and father Martin Thompson.
He is survived by his wife, Lenora; daughters Pamela Campbell (Ken), Paula Stellmaker, Shelley Thompson and Vicki Edwards (Jeff); son Michael Thompson (Nancy); 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
