SULO J. ALTO

Sulo J. Alto, 82, lifelong Lawrence Lake area resident, entered the Kingdom of our Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012.

Sulo J. Alto, 82, lifelong Lawrence Lake area resident, entered the Kingdom of our Lord on Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved hunting, fishing, and driving cars for the dealerships. He will be greatly missed.

Born July 24, 1930 in Bovey, Sulo was the son of Jalmer and Fena (Harms) Alto.

Sulo and Vera Hughes were married on Nov. 11, 1949 in Grand Rapids. He was a member of the Lawron Presbyterian Church and had been a welder in the mines.

His parents, Jalmer and Fena Alto; twin infant daughters; a son, John Alto; a daughter, Cindy Jahn; and two granddaughters, Michelle Alto and Deana Gager preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Vera; sons, Gary (Juanita) Alto of Whitwell, Tenn., Ken (April) Alto of Glasgow, Mont.; daughter, Linda (Mike) Gager of Prairie Lake; a daughter-in-law, Charlene Alto of Rural Bovey; a son-in-law, Brett Jahn of LaPrairie; seven grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the Grand Village staff for the care, love, and support given during this special time.

VISITATION: 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012 in the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine and will continue from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012 in the Lawron Presbyterian Church.
