DANIEL JOHN PEDERSEN

Daniel John Pedersen, 57, of Culver, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012.

Daniel John Pedersen, 57, of Culver, died Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012.

He was born on Aug, 15, 1955 in Cloquet, the son of John and Dolly Pedersen.

Dan was a 1973 graduate of Albrook High School. Since 1974, he has been employed as a truck driver and construction yard manager by Modern Constructors and Pipe Benders, now known as Bend-Tec.

Dan loved being in the outdoors. He would often take his dog, Trader, four-wheeling to check out the back roads and trails. He enjoyed going to the stock car races, snowmobiling, hiking and looking for new grouse hunting sites. Although Dan enjoyed deer hunting, it was never about getting a trophy buck, but all about the comradery with everyone he hunted with.

Dan loved spending time with his family. He especially loved all his nieces and nephews and was happiest when he was helping others. Dan will be fondly remembered as being a big tease.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dan was deeply loved and will be missed by two brothers, David (Julie) Pedersen of Esko and Jim Pedersen of Deltona, Fla.; sisters, Joan Pedersen, Debbie Mager, Eva (Steve) Broberg, and Rita (Dwayne) Wait, all of Cloquet; nieces and nephews, Valerie, John, Amanda, Bethany, Krista, Kyle, Jenna, BreAnne, Kodie and Morgan; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

VISITATION: 5 – 7 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012 in Atkins-Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet. Visitation will continue Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, from 10 until the 11 a.m. Funeral Service in Cloquet Gospel Tabernacle, 1400 Washington Avenue, Cloquet. Burial will be at Sunrise Memorial Park, Hermantown. Memorials may be made to The Salvation Army. To leave an online tribute, see www.atkinsnorthlandfuneralhome.com

Mere words can not articulate my feeling of loss. Danny was so special, so loved and he will be so missed. I cannot imagine going to a family function and him not being there. He loved his family very much and that feeling was also felt by his presence when he walked into the room. I will never forget his visit at the hospital when he came to see me. Please know that my thoughts & prayers are with you all. I so want to be there with the family and for the family. I am very sad that I can not be there because of distance & the uncooperative weather & general health. My heart & all my love will be with you tonight & tomorrow & all the tomorrows forever after. Love from your cousin Linda

"When someone you love becomes a memory~The memory becomes a treasure." Mike and I have a whole treasure chest full of "Danny" memories. When I think of Danny, I think of his smile and that twinkle in his eye that warned me, he was up to no good! It would always follow with his good-hearted teasing. I will miss him with all my heart! Love Susan
