Christine M. Parks, 73, of Cloquet, passed away Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012 at Sunnyside Health Care.

Christine M. Parks, 73, of Cloquet, passed away Sunday, Nov. 18, 2012 at Sunnyside Health Care.

She was born Sept. 19, 1939 in Soudan, Minn., to Christian and Virginia (Bruneau) Berg.

Christine attended schools and graduated from Tower-Soudan High School. She worked several summers at the End of The Trail Lodge and at her aunt’s and uncle’s resort on Saganaga Lake where she met the love of her life, David Parks. She and David where united in marriage in Tower, Minn., after her graduation from nursing school in Virginia, Minn., in 1959.

Christine worked for the Virginia Hospital for a short time, and also for St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth before starting a 43 year career at the Cloquet Community Memorial Hospital, retiring in 2002.

Christine enjoyed the outdoors, reading, growing flowers, was a fantastic baker, playing cards, collecting angel and hummingbird figurines, and was a big fan of hockey and football and was a “die hard Vikings fan”.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David Parks; two brothers, LeRoy and Donald Berg; one sister, Bonnie Berg; and her husband’s parents, Howard and Ellen Parks.

She is survived by two sons, Stacey (Cheryl) Parks of Elk River, Minn., and Judson (Renee) Parks of Cloquet; three brothers, Russell (Theresa) Berg of Rockford, Ill., Ramon Berg and Darrell Berg, both of Tower; one sister, Darlene (Paul) Mesojedec of Virginia, Minn.; 10 grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 until the 1 p.m. memorial service in Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet, followed with a luncheon in the fellowship room. Inurnment will be at the Tower Cemetery at a later date. See the family online guest book at www.nelsonfuneralcare.net.
