Clyde G. Gribbon, 86, of Hermantown, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012 in his home.
Clyde was born June 25, 1927 in Duluth to John and Rose Gribbon.
He served in the U.S. Army as an MP in Paris during World War II.
He returned to Duluth and married Doris Miernicki and they moved to Hermantown to raise their family. Clyde retired from the DMIR Railroad in 1987. He enjoyed playing cribbage and doing crossword puzzles, but most of all, irritating his children.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gregg “Butch”; wife, Doris; granddaughter, Leslie and his brother, Norman.
He is survived by his children, Terry Benson, Randy (Michelle), Brian and Wendy; grandchildren, Todd, Darren, Kelly, Jamie, Megan and Alia; Great grandchildren, Marschel, Zina and Emily; sister, Arlette DeMorest and his niece, Leah.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Larry, Becky and Kathy from St. Mary’s Hospice for their loving care and for playing cribbage with Clyde.
VISITATION: 12 Noon Saturday with services at 1 p.m. in the Dougherty Funeral Home. Burial with Military honors accorded by the Duluth Combined Honor Guard will be Monday at Oneota Cemetery. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, 600 E 2nd St. (218) 727-3555.
