Patricia Lynn Bandelin, devoted wife, mother and doting grandmother, passed away surrounded by friends and family on Nov. 6, 2012, in Duluth.
Patricia Lynn Bandelin, devoted wife, mother and doting grandmother, passed away surrounded by friends and family on Nov. 6, 2012, in Duluth.
She was born in Minneapolis to Peter and Violet Kocur and raised in Crystal.
Pat spent her early adulthood in Seaside Heights, New Jersey with her former husband, Bill and had many happy memories of strolls on the beach and boardwalk with her son John.
A Qwest retiree, she started working in the Northwestern Bell Minneapolis offices before transferring to her adopted hometown of Duluth, where she enjoyed the beauty of Lake Superior, that she loved so much.
Pat was a diehard Vikings fan her entire life, who could never get herself to cheer for the Packers, even for the Super Bowl. She loved cooking but also enjoyed ceramics and crossword puzzles. An incredibly loving person, she adopted strays of all kinds, including people. She was always cheerful, with a distinctive laugh and a wonderful smile that could light up a room. Patricia will be missed by all.
She is survived by her husband, Matthew Caya; mother-in-law, Linda Ripley; brother, Robert Kocur and sister, Sherry (Brad) Maahs; sons, Steven and John (Alicia) Bandelink; grandchildren, Tyler, Rylee, Bryce, Chase, Delaney, Mckenna and Byker.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE: 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at the Duluth American Legion Post 71, 5814 Grand Avenue, with some of Pat’s favorite recipes served afterwards
