ROSE EVELYN ZACHER

Rose E. Zacher, 89, of Brainerd and formerly of Sawyer, passed away Monday, Oct. 1, 2012 in Brainerd.

She was born Aug. 27, 1923 in Cromwell to Thomas and Hazel (Schmitt) Balsness.

Rose owned and operated Bob and Rose’s Bar in Sawyer for many years. She especially loved to walk and going on bike rides.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Zacher; three brothers, George, Floyd and Bennett “Bud” Balsness; and three sisters, Lila Lundstrom, Dorothy Chernich, and Betty Rostveit.

She is survived by two children, Robert “Skip” (Cindy) Zacher of Baxter, Minn., and Cheryl Zacher of Colorado; three grandchildren, Jeni (David) Schwegman, Leah Zacher, and Joel (Rachel) Zacher; four great-grandchildren, Taylor Zacher, Ty Schwegman, Lauren Zacher, and Logan Zacher; and numerous nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2012 until the 11 a.m. memorial service in Nelson Funeral Care in Cloquet, followed with a meal in the fellowship room. Inurnment service will be at 1:30 pm. at the Sawyer Cemetery.
