Marian Abrahamsen, 86, of Maplewood, Minn. passed away peacefully Aug. 19, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.
Marian Abrahamsen, 86, of Maplewood, Minn., passed away peacefully Aug. 19, 2012 surrounded by her loving family.
Marian was born on Dec. 10, 1925 to Harry and Edna (White) Cooper in Jamestown, N.D.
Her family moved to Minnesota in 1934 where she attended school and graduated from Sandstone High School. She worked at Norwest Central Avenue Bank in Minneapolis for many years, and later enjoyed serving as a nanny for many families.
She was a woman with a wonderful sense of humor who really enjoyed people. She loved to dance, play cards, go to movies and have fun with friends and family. For many years she was a member of Maplewood Moose Lodge No. 963 and the White Bear Senior Center where she enjoyed playing cribbage and 500.
Marian loved to entertain and cherished spending time with her family.
Preceded in death by her parents and 12 siblings.
She is survived by daughters Sharon and Lynn Abrahamsen of St. Paul; son Eldon (Raeanne) Abrahamsen of Esko; grandchildren Katherine (Matthew) Dean, David Steffes, Chelsea and Alexis Abrahamsen; great-grandchildren Erik and Elanor Dean; brother Richard (June) Cooper and many nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, until the 11 a.m. memorial service in St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 900 Stillwater Road, Mahtomedi, Minn.
