VIRGINIA MCCUBBIN JEANETTA

Virginia McCubbin Jeanetta, 87, of Duluth, passed away on Friday, Aug. 3, 2012 at Chris Jensen Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Virginia Rose Wasley was born on Aug. 8, 1924 in Virginia, Minn., the daughter of William and Mary (Olsen) Wasley.

She grew up in Meadow Brook Township and later moved to Duluth. She was a Ham Radio operator (KOYMC) for many years. She enjoyed walking, exercising, yoga, and reading health and fitness books.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Wayne Wirtanen, Don McCubbin, and Bennie Jeanetta, Jr., grandson, Bob McCubbin, Jr., and seven brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her children, Laura (Gordon) Simons, of Mound, Minn., and Bob (Linda) McCubbin of Duluth, also six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the staff of Christ Jensen-Willow Wing and Essentia Hospice for their love and kindness for Virginia.

PRIVATE GRAVESIDE SERVICE: will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Duluth. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home (218) 727-3555.
