Ann M. (Pavelich) "Teta" March 91, Hibbing passed away on Monday, July 2, 2012 at the Guardian Angels Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hibbing.

Ann M. (Pavelich) "Teta" March 91, Hibbing passed away on Monday, July 2, 2012 at the Guardian Angels Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hibbing.

She was born on June 12, 1921 in the little mountain village of Kriviput, "Crooked Path", Croatia, overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Ann was the first born child of John and Zora Pavelich.

Ann immigrated to the United States with her mother Zora, sailing from the port of Hamburg, Germany on Nov. 23, 1922 aboard the S.S. Bayern, arriving in the New York harbor on Dec. 8, 1922. She grew up in the mining town of Carson Lake on Minnesota's Iron Range. She graduated from the Hibbing High School in 1939. Ann's professional career began with Pickands Mather & Company. She later worked for over 20 years at Hibbing General Hospital in their accounting department where lifelong friendships with co-workers were formed.

Ann was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of Hibbing.

Ann married James March on Feb. 7, 1942. They were blessed with the birth of their only child on April 1, 1954, Mary Susan March. Ann was devoted and a loving wife, mother, and aunt. After her husband Jim died in 2000 she moved to Palm Springs, Calif., to be with her beloved daughter Mary. After the sudden death of her daughter Mary in 2007, Ann moved back to Hibbing, Minn., to spend her remaining years enjoying the company of her sister Mary, extended family, and her dear friends.

Ann was fondly referred to as "Teta" (Croatian for "auntie") by her family. She will be forever remembered for her delicious cooking, and delectable Christmas cookies. Every Christmas season she baked countless varieties of sweet treats which she shared with family and friends both locally and nationwide. She was always trying new recipes, and refining and tweaking existing ones to perfection. It just wasn't Christmas without Teta's cookies!
