RONALD LEE JOHNSON

Ronald Lee Johnson, 62, was called to his heavenly home on July 3, 2012.

Ronald Lee Johnson, 62, was called to his heavenly home on July 3, 2012.

Ron was born in Duluth, on May 10, 1950, to Richard and Elsie (Pearson) Johnson and graduated from East High School along with his three brothers.

Ron pursued his education in Elementary Education at the University of Minnesota Duluth and Moorhead State. Ron served his country in the United States Navy, stationed mainly at Cecil Air Force Base in Florida.

On June 21, 1975, at the United Methodist Church of Deer Creek, Minn., he married his sweetheart and love of his life Kathy Zeise. Few have loved as deeply or completed one another as well as Kathy and Ron.

Ron was a teacher that students enjoyed and respected at Homecroft Elementary (Minnesota), as well as at Osceola Public Schools (Florida) and Hollister Public Schools (California). Teaching was truly a passion and gift for Ron, as all who knew him could attest.

Ron loved life. He enjoyed playing guitar, playing cards and games, working in the garden, and going to movies. Most of all, Ron loved doing anything that involved spending time with his family and friends. He was quick to serve, easy to love, and nearly impossible to anger. A friendship with Ron yielded easy smiles, a light heart, and enduring kindness. His faith in Christ was lived out through quiet service to all whom he encountered, inside and outside the church.

He is preceded in death by his father Richard Johnson.

Ron is survived by his loving wife Kathy (Redding, Calif.); son Keven (Stephanie) Johnson, Hermantown, Minn.; granddaughters Kennedy and Maggie Johnson; mother, Elsie, Duluth, brothers Larry (Sharon) Johnson, Bella Vista, Ark., Gordy (Colleen) Johnson, Duluth, Glen (Laura) Johnson, Proctor; many loved nieces and nephews, special friends Gabby and Mark O'Donoghue, Godchildren Chris Brown, Gwen Brown, Brandon O'Donoghue and Dylan Johnson, and beloved pets Sophie and Sadie.

SERVICE: 2 p.m. Sunday, July 8, in United Methodist Church in Hollister, Calif. Another service will be held at Mount of Olives Baptist Church (1500 Swan Lake Rd) in Duluth, on Saturday, July 14, at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the United Methodist Church of Hollister, CA. 521 Monterey Street, Hollister, CA. 95023
