Lester M. Johnson, 80, of Lake Nebagamon went to be with the Lord on Saturday April 14, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth.
Lester was born in Hawthorne, Wis., on Feb. 19, 1932 to David and Mabel Johnson.
He was a member of the first graduating class of Northwestern High School in 1950.
Lester served in the military during the Korean Conflict from 1953-1955. He married Janice Sandmon on March 31, 1956.
He was a self employed contractor and spent all of his life in the Lake Nebagamon and Hawthorne area. After he retired he loved to help his children and grandchildren with numerous projects and activities.
He was preceded in death by grandson, Levi Lundgren; also brothers, Russell Johnson, Wayne Johnson, Wallace Johnson; sisters, Margie Mattson and Lucille Winkka.
Lester is survived by his wife of 56 years, Janice; daughter, Cindy (Mark) Lundgren; sons, Ron (Tammy) Johnson, Brian (Julie) Johnson, Bob (Andrene) Johnson, and Dale (Traci) Johnson; grandchildren, Rena (Nick) Navarro, Matthew (Lindsey) Johnson, Stephanie (Josh) Lintula, Rachel (Jason) Deatherage, Lucas Lundgren, Emily Johnson, Nathan Johnson, Gus Johnson, and Tyler Johnson; great grandchildren, Sophia Navarro, Ellie Deatherage, Nora Navarro, and Gage Johnson; brothers, Delroy Johnson, Fred Johnson, and sisters, Audrey Wright and Jeanie Kallinen
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Mission Covenant Church 5161 Hwy P Poplar, Wis., with a visitation at 10 a.m.
