GEORGANN LOIS SPONNICK

Georgann Lois Sponnick, 78, of Virginia, Minn., died Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Essentia Health SMDC in Duluth.

Georgann Lois Sponnick. 78, of Virginia, Minn., died on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Essentia Health-SMDC in Duluth.

Georgann was born on Oct. 28, 1933 in Duluth, to George and Lois (Kitto) Broman.

She grew up and attended school in Duluth. On Nov. 4, 1950 in Duluth she was united in marriage to George Sponnick, presently living in Virginia where they raised their four children. She was a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She lead by example and lived her life with grace and strength.

Georgann was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Virginia and was an advocate for persons with special needs.

Georgann was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Anna May Johansen.

She is survived by her husband, George; children, Sandra Lynott of Stillwater, Minn., Pam (Tom) Wallin of Carlton, Minn., Jeff Sponnick of Virginia, Minn.; grandchildren, Tom Jr., Megan, Kate, Maggie, Matt and Sam; great-grandchildren, Lilly and Miles; brothers, Charles (Karen) Broman, Ken (Mary) Broman; numerous other relatives and many friends.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012 in Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Virginia with visitation one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with Range Funeral Home in Virginia. Online guestbook at www.rangefuneralhomes.com

Chickie and I send our most sincere condolences from where we are living in Florida. We think about the loss and will always hold the memory of her wonderful life in our thoughts. We view her life with special admiration, respect, and gratefulness. Her entire extended family is a treasure that she represented and supported so beautifully with her love.
