Hazel McClimek, 85, of Hermantown passed away Tuesday March 26, 2012 at the Benedictine Health Center.
Hazel McClimek, 85, of Hermantown passed away Tuesday March 26, 2012 at the Benedictine Health Center.
She was born in Pine River, Minn., on Jan. 12, 1927 to Elis and Anna Norman.
On Dec 8, 1946 she married Harvey McClimek in Minneapolis. Hazel worked for many years, teaching in the Bena and Remer school districts. She enjoyed reading, cribbage, crossword puzzles and bingo. Hazel also enjoyed spending time at the family cabin on Leech Lake.
Hazel was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harvey; brothers Carl and Walter; sister Esther Crandall; daughter Sandra Edwards and granddaughters Stacie McClimek and Darcie Wheeler.
She is survived by daughter Connie (Gary) Wheeler of Remer; son Rodney (Karen) McClimek of Hermantown; grandchildren Kim Bader, Michael (Paula) Johnson, Dan (Kari) Edwards, Kelly Wheeler, Beth, Amy and Travis McClimek; great grandchildren Cody, Brandi and Dylan Bader; Joshua and Jacob Johnson; Christian Edwards; Preston McClimek and great great granddaughter Adalyn Bader.
VISITATION: 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. service on Saturday, March 31, in the Carroll Funeral Home in Deer River, Minn., with Pastor Bill Ness officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Remer.
