Melva Mae Anderson, of Duluth, died Sunday, June 7, 2009, in Ocala, Fla. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. funeral service Saturday, June 13, at United Protestant Church. Burial at Oneota Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Williams-Lobermeier Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 624-1059.

Gwen M. Couture, 78

Gwen M. Couture, 78, died Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday June 13, at First Presbyterian Church, 300 E. Second St. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service and a reception following. Arrangements are being handled by First Memorial Funeral Chapel, 624-5200.

Jessica S. Eastwood, 28

Former Duluth East student Jessica Shirley Eastwood, 28, died Sunday, May 10, 2009, in Nashville from head injuries suffered in a moped accident. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at Duluth’s 12 Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, 632 E. Second St.

Susan A. Grover, 72

Duluth native Susan A. Grover, 72, died Sunday, June 7, 2009. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service and a light lunch following.

Nathan ‘Nate’ Thomas Hoover, 32

Duluth native Nathan “Nate” Thomas Hoover, 32, died Sunday, May 24, 2009, in Key Largo, Fla., where he had resided for the past three-and-a-half years. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4100 Grand Ave. There will be a visitation one hour prior to the service. Call 624-5200.

Earl Peter Jam, 91

Earl Peter Jam, 91, formerly of Duluth, died Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at Virginia Regional Medical Center. Funeral services were held Monday at Glen Avon Presbyterian Church. Arrangements were handled by Dougherty Funeral Home.

Lawrence ‘Bud’ Johnson, 83

Lawrence “Larry” (or “Bud”) Johnson Jr., 83, of Superior, died Saturday, June 6, 2009. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 20, at Twin Ports Baptist Church in Superior. Visitation will be at 1 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 624-5200.

Albert Nicholas Leone, 92

Duluth native Albert Nicholas Leone, 92, died Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at St. Luke’s Hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church, 2431 W. Third St. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service at the church. Private burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Park Cemetery.

Ann Morrow, 96, died Saturday, June 6, 2009, at Solvay Hospice House. A memorial service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 20, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Minong, Wis. Arrangements are being handled by the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 624-5200.

Theresa Marie (Stone) Novack, 76

Theresa “Terry” Marie (Stone) Novack, 76, died Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at Solvay Hospice House. Private family services will be held at a later date. Services are being handled by the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 624-5200.
