The Salvation Army in Duluth received a $1,000 donation from the Altrusa Club on Jan. 17 to be used as needed. In addition to the monetary donation, Altrusa Duluth collected 266 pounds of nonperishable food items, and assembled 24 decorative homemade soup mixes in canning jars for the food shelf. In December, Altrusa Club raised $433.94 ringing bells and donated $280 worth of toys and clothing for distribution to area families for Christmas.
