Fred Friedman's menorah comes from pre-war Germany. "We purchased it in an antique store in Kalkar, Germany, where no Jews remained in the community because all were lost when taken to the concentration camps. Whoever owned it before us did not survive the war." Friedman describes it as "brass and quite heavy. Part of it accidentally broke at show and tell, but we still are proud to have it."
