Patty Duke plays Francesca in the movie “You’ll Like My Mother.” The filmmakers shot movie footage in and around Duluth in the winter of 1972, including a stop at Wonderland Resort near the French River. Producers ended up using a different site for the scene when Duke arrives by bus in northern Minnesota. Duke told the Duluth Herald at the time that she had never seen snow piled so high.
