Massage therapist Jan Oltmanns sets a bolster out on the massage table for a morning client. “The bolster is used to either slide under the knees when the client is lying on their back or under the ankles when the client is lying on their stomach. Both positions soften the lumbar spine area which makes it more comfortable to lie on the table,” said Oltmanns. The white appliance on the left is a towel warmer. (Photo by Thomas Vaughn)
