Helping others isn't only during holidays, local volunteers do it all the time

Betty Melin of Brookston can usually find a little something to do to help — whether it’s making a pot of soup for an ailing relative, patching a pair of pants for an elderly friend, even cleaning a stranger’s eyeglasses. Here are three profiles of local volunteers who decided to do some simple things to help others.
