Newcomer Kubek wins individual Nordic title

NORDIC SKIING STATE MEET: Duluth East senior Anna Kubek sported a wide grin as she cruised to a first-place finish at the Minnesota high school Nordic ski meet Thursday at Giants Ridge, her long — and at times arduous — journey from Alaska to here having reached a climax.
