Local view: Islamists are out to dominate U.S.

Islam has been in the news almost daily since the bombing of the World Trade Center more than 11 years ago. After that, Muslims throughout the country began to speak out on the peaceful and tolerant side of Islam. Americans quickly noted the dichotomy of the two sides of the Muslim world, one side proclaiming peace and the other side calling for war on America.
