Michael Alan Krajewski, 49, of Duluth, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 in western North Dakota as the result of an accident at a hydraulic fracturing site.
Michael Alan Krajewski, 49, of Duluth, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 in western North Dakota as the result of an accident at a hydraulic fracturing site.
He was born in Norwalk, Calif., on Oct. 24, 1963 to Dennis W. and Joyce Ann (Collier) Krajewski and moved to Duluth as a young child.
Mike was a 1981 graduate of Duluth East High School. He married Lisa Ann Stauber. Mike was an Air Force veteran, serving as a firefighter. Following the military, he became a crash rescue fireman as part of a civilian fire department at Eppley Airfield in Omaha, Neb. where he quickly earned the rank of captain. Returning to Duluth, he opened his own painting company. For the past year, Mike worked at a Halliburton fracking location in western North Dakota.
Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa; and daughters Ashley, Brianna and Rachel Krajewski; his parents, Dennis and Joyce Krajewski; all of Duluth; brothers, Greg (Lisa) of Belle Fourche, S.D. and Joe (Laura) of Edina, Minn.; sisters Pam (Robert) Weiss of Grays Lake, Ill., Jennifer (Mead) Bradley and Teresa (Matt) Thornwall both of Duluth; mother-in-law, Judy (Tom) Shanks of Duluth; father-in-law Ron (Shirley Bolander) Stauber of Duluth; sister-in-law Rhonda (Ed) Monarque of Alabama; and numerous nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: 12 noon, Friday, Jan. 25, 2013 until the 1 p.m. memorial service in Our Savior’s Church, 4831 Grand Ave. Military honors will be accorded by the Duluth Combined Honor Guard. Inurnment will be at Oneota Cemetery. Memorials directed to the family would be appreciated. Arrangements by Dougherty Funeral Home, Duluth, 727-3555.
