Student of the Week: Morgan Carlson of Cloquet Middle School
Name: Morgan Carlson
School: Cloquet Middle School
Grade: 7
Parents: Lisa and Darrin Carlson of Cloquet
What class are you most excited about this year? Math, because I’m understanding it this year and am getting good grades.
What sports are you involved in? Soccer, softball and hockey; soccer is my favorite.
What has been your best experience in life so far? My parents surprised us with a trip to California; we went on the Golden Gate Bridge, biked a lot and went to a 49ers game.
What is something most people at school don’t know about you? I like to read; I have recently read the Clique series and Pretty Little Liars.
What do you like or dislike the most about Facebook? Whatever people put out there everyone can see and rumors get started a lot; if it’s disrespectful people get hurt feelings.
Anything else you would like to share? I have a very supportive family and sister that I appreciate very much!
Why nominated? Jonathan Horbacz, math teacher, writes, “Morgan is a student whose high character stands out in a crowd. She is the first to volunteer whether it is needed or not; Morgan will then go above and beyond to make sure that everyone is included or has a partner for an activity. Also, Morgan works extremely hard for the grades she receives and is willing to put in the extra effort to ensure she succeeds. Morgan will continue to succeed because of her work ethic, her ability to lead quietly but confidently, and her contagious smile that lights up the room.”
