Kayla Deadrick of Esko and Jered Swanson of Proctor announced their engagement.

Her parents are Shane and Lynne Deadrick of Esko. His parents are Cory and Gina Swanson of Saginaw.

The future bride, a 2009 graduate of Lincoln High School, is pursuing a degree in nursing at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College in Cloquet.

The future groom, a 2007 graduate of Proctor High School, is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in medical technology at Lake Superior College in Duluth.
