FRANCES "FRANNY" CECIL CIMPERMAN

Frances "Franny" Cecil Cimperman, 95, of Virginia went to be with the Lord, whom she deeply loved, on Jan. 6, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth surrounded by her family.

Frances, one of two identical twins (sister Helen Barbara) was born at home in Eveleth to Valentine and Helena Jagunich on July 14, 1917.

She graduated from Eveleth High School in 1936 and married William Joseph Cimperman on Aug. 20, 1940.

Franny was always a care giver, first to her aging parents, next to her four children and then to her husband, William, who spent the last 20 years of his life disabled with multiple sclerosis.

Franny was always a consummate homemaker, wife and mother. She loved to cook, bake ethnic foods and bread, sew, knit, garden, make sauerkraut and can foods.

For many years she served as an election judge, sang in the church funeral choir, and was well known for her pasty making, especially for the Marquette School fund raisers.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband William J. Cimperman, Sr.; brothers John, Anthony, and Lewis and sisters Marie, Margareta, Ann, and Dorothy.

Franny is survived by her loving family including her twin sister Helen Viezbicke of Virginia; daughter Deborah (Steve) Clasen of Hermantown; sons William (Mary) Cimperman, Jr. of Maple Grove, Ron (Judy) Cimperman of Virginia and Eugene (Ann) Cimperman of Parkville; seven grandchildren, Cory (Renee) Clasen, Jeremy (Sue) Clasen, Veronica (Jacob) Sheck, Tony Cimperman, Sean Cimperman, Jeana Cimperman and Amy Cimperman; eight great-grandchildren, Calvin, Taylor and Danica Clasen; Trevor and Kaelyn Clasen; Nolan, Lincoln and Ingrid Sheck; and many nieces and nephews.

Her family wishes to thank Dr. David Sproat for providing excellent and personalized care for her over the years. They also wish to thank the many health care staff at St. Luke's Hospital who provided their mother with quality care in a dignified manner.

The family requests memorials to Marquette Catholic School, 311 Third Street South, Virginia, MN 55792 or to the Diocese of Duluth, 2830 E. Fourth Street, Duluth, MN 55812 for the TV Mass for shut-ins.

MEMORIAL MASS: 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 in Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Virginia with Rev. Fr. John O'Donnell as celebrant. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service in the church; with a parish rosary beginning at 10 a.m. Inurnment will be at Eveleth Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Landmark Funeral Home of Virginia
