So many souls went home to God that day
his arms could scarcely hold them,
So many cries went up to God that day
his ears could barely take them in,
So much sorrow, grief and terror went up to God that day
his heart nearly burst from the pain.
Tears filled the eyes of God —
“My children,” he said, “my children.”
By Sue Walkoviak of Duluth
“This is part of something I wrote after the 9/11 attacks, and perhaps it is appropriate now in light of the Newtown, Conn., tragedy.”
