Essentia Health has added to its telemedicine network with a link between the emergency departments in Sandstone and Duluth.
With high-end cameras, microphones and a secure network connection, caregivers and a patient in the emergency room at Essentia Health-Sandstone are able to talk with emergency medicine specialists at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth.
A similar link was launched earlier this year with Essentia Health-Northern Pines in Aurora, an Essentia Health news release said. Essentia also uses telemedicine to link some of its facilities in dermatology, mental health, pharmacy and congestive heart failure.
