  • A proposal to sell Pennell Park at Central Entrance and Arlington Avenue was presented to the Duluth Park Board yesterday. The proposal states that traffic patterns in the immediate area of the park limit its use.

  • Eighteen-year-old Megan Robb of Duluth was in Washington, D.C., yesterday to receive the Caring Award, a prestigious national honor from the Caring Institute. The award honors and promotes the values of caring, integrity and public service in young people and adults.

  • Betty Youngblood was inaugurated yesterday as the 10th chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Youngblood, who has been acting chancellor since August 1991, replaces Terrence MacTaggart.
