The Minnesota Highway 210 bridge between Carlton and Thomson is scheduled to reopen early next month.
The bridge was closed in June for a planned $1.9 million rehabilitation, which was delayed by flooding two weeks after the bridge closed.
Rehabilitation work included repairs to structural steel, the replacement of rivets with bolts, installation of new expansion joints and new concrete deck and rail. Flooding on June 19-20 destroyed the bridge’s approaches and an overflow culvert next to the bridge. A new bridge is being built to replace the culvert and will open at the same time as the renovated bridge.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation hasn’t totaled the cost for flood-related damages.
