Leeann Chin restaurant opening Oct. 22 in Miller Hill Mall

Leeann Chin will open its new location at the Miller Hill Mall food court Oct. 22. The company confirmed in late August that it would open sometime in the fall, but until now hadn’t given an exact date.

The opening follows years of requests from Duluth-area residents to open a restaurant in Duluth, said Mike Loney, the company’s chief operating officer, in a news release.

“We feel that the Miller Hill Mall is a tremendous opportunity for us, and we believe that Duluth is the next natural extension for us after opening three new Leeann Chin restaurants in the Twin Cities in 2012,” he wrote.

As part of the mall food court, Leeann Chin will have an express format with a limited menu compared to its sit-down restaurants.

Hours will be 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.

Leeann Chin’s opening comes on the heels of the opening of a Noodles & Company restaurant at the mall. Both were on many people’s restaurant wish list for Duluth.
