Southbound lane of London Road to close Wednesday

Southbound traffic from the state Highway 61 Expressway will be diverted onto Superior Street in Duluth beginning Wednesday for a flood-related culvert repair project.
The detour will be in effect through the end of the month, according to the state Department of Transportation. A large culvert beneath Highway 61 and London Road was damaged in the June 19-20 flood and the adjacent roadway was undermined, according to MnDOT.
Traffic will be directed back onto London Road at 54th Avenue East.
Northbound traffic is not affected, although delays can be expected in the construction area.
